A Track into Autumn

Fresh tracks accross new grass lead to these nice autumn maple and cottonwood trees at Jackson Bottom wetlands preserve.

This area used to be a perennial pond, but during restoration work in 2011 it was graded and filled in. The entire wetlands flooded during it's normal winter innundation and it's just now receeding so we'll see what the plan is for this area.

The foreground shadow is from a wildlife viewing blind, the open slats of which let in the bits of sunlight you see.
