Last Winter, Down by the Bay

    Newer Older

We were promised a big dump of snow yesterday that never materialized. Oh sure, we got an inch or two, but nothing like what I was hoping for. So here's a snowy picture taken last winter, when we got far more snow than we usually get on the west coast. One thing I miss about living back east is the snow in winter!
Later that day...Argh! Just got back from walking the dogs in a torrential downpour. Of course I got stuck in the mud on a back road, almost in the ditch. It's raining so hard, the road was like quicksand in places. Luckily my friend Marilyn came by...after much huffing and puffing, we still didn't get the car out so she called Bob, her neighbour, on her cell phone (might have to get one of those). Bob showed up in his four-wheel drive (might have to get one of those too) and pulled me out. Thanks so much to Marilyn and Bob for the rescue!

Brrreautiful beyond imagining. And it's real! Great capture.
I've only been stuck once *knock on wood* but it was a doozy! No fun. Sorry you had to go there.

gorgeous scene! Just like a painting... I must admit that winter can be pretty but I'd still settle for seeing it in pictures rather than real life. Still only a dusting here...

Wow, this is really a stunning beauty. The contrasts are so appealing with just a bit of blue color to make it colder! Lovely photo!

Glad it all ended well with a hot cup of tea I suspect - the phone is a good idea - couldn't live with out mine - and its more affordable than a 4WD!!

      take care

What a beautiful winter shot. Nice perspective and reflections.. Looks so cold there! In Bangkok, it is so hot! Hope you have a great weekend. Keep smiling, Peggy ;-)!

Love this shot can just feel the stillness. You can have some of our snow we are getting dumped on and now it's quite cold so no fear of it melting any time soon. -18 C

Sounds like the NE is getting snow this time around. We've just gotten lots of rain - something we don't need. Beautiful winter photo!

Oh, golly, this is exquisite!! The weathermen can't seem to get it right. Today was supposed to be dry and clear but now we have fog and mist. Oh well. Have a lovely weekend and glad your adventure turned out okay.
