The four square pots at the centre of the picture. A South American vegetable grown for its enormous - Dahlia-like tubers which can be eaten like water-chestnuts or mashed and reduced down to make a calorie-free maple syrup substitute, apparently. I've not tried it yet. Three tubers came from The Real Seed Catalogue last December (one was big enough to split) They should make a big leafy sunflower type thing in the summer, to be harvested or stored like Dahlias or potatoes next autumn.
