Chigüiro and Friends

    Newer Older

At the Reserva Marasha in the Amazon they had a chigüiro (capybara) family with threes kids that came every day to visit and feed. Thye are very cute and docile, and smarter than you think. Everyday they swim across the lake before dark and before the caimans set up shop.

I've never even heard of such an animal. Wow, he really is big! From behind he reminds me of our beavers (also from the rodent family). A fun shot, especially with the mackaw going for a ride!
