Re shafting a 100 year old hickory golf club for a friend that he broke last weekend while we were out playing a round of golf.
The process starts with selecting clear straight grained hickory and sizing a square. Then the end of the shaft is tapered for a tight fit into the hosel of the club head.
The next 6 images follow the club through to completion.
This particular club is a mashie, about the equivalent of a 5 iron.
