Mill Creek Springs Natural Area Preserve
This 222-acre preserve in Montgomery County, Va., consists of limestone hills drained by Mill Creek. A globally rare red cedar-chinquapin oak dolomite woodland community is protected here, as well as several globally rare invertebrate species. This property, owned by The Nature Conservancy, was added to Virginia's 55,000-plus-acre natural area preserve system in 2010.
