Take me out to the ball game!
We chose this game because Brandon Morrow (he of the one-hit 17 strikeout performance against the Rays—no-hitter broken up after 8.2 innings) was scheduled to pitch. And what a game it was. A dozen Ks for Morrow in six innings scattering 4 hits. The Jays' Escobar tossed from the game for chirping at the ump on his way back on the field after his previous inning-ending called strike and manager Cito Gaston summarily ejected for defending his player. A brush back 96 mph fastball thrown over the head of Jose Bautista which ensued a bench and bullpen clearing onto the field. A would-be streaker tackled by security in the top-of-the eighth. And then the Major League homerun leader smacking his 40th homer, second of the game and game-winning run in a 3-2 home side victory; best payback for a pitch at your head.
