2018 Science Lesson
A group of Pitt County AIG (Academically or Intellectually Gifted) students took part in a hands on exercise Jan. 30 to develop a better understanding of DNA, which carries genetic information in the cells of all living organisms and many viruses.

Under the direction of PCC Biotechnology Department Chair Christy Weeks, the fourth and fifth-graders extracted DNA from their saliva using lab equipment in the college’s new Walter and Marie Williams Building.

The science lesson was organized by PCC Associate in General Education Instructor Don King, whose son was part of the group.
