2016 Fire Academy Graduation Ceremony
Pitt Community College honored the 14 graduates of its 9th Fire Academy July 8, during a ceremony at the Greenville Convention Center.

The graduates have completed six-months of rigorous training as part of the academy, earning their NC Firefighter Level I and II, Hazardous Materials Level I, Technical Rescuer, Emergency Vehicle Driver, and EMT Basic Certificates.

Their physical training included a live burn of the Drill Tower and basic ladder training. They were also taught the proper method for pulling hoses, pulling water and repelling.

PCC will begin its 10th Fire Academy on Jan. 11. The academy is open to anyone age 18 and older with a letter of affiliation from a local fire department.
