2012 Veterans Resource Fair
Pitt Community College hosted its first-ever Veterans Resource Fair Oct. 23 to give college personnel and local organizations a chance to speak with veterans about the resources and services they have to offer them.

The event took place in the college’s Craig F. Goess Student Center multipurpose room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch was provided from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to participants who presented a military ID or ID and proof of military service.

In addition to representatives from a variety of campus departments, vendors that participated in the fair included the American Legion, Disabled Veterans of America, Real Crisis Center, Support Team for Active Recreation, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Veterans of Modern Warfare and Vietnam Veterans of America.

In the fall of 2011—when the college was serving approximately 500 veterans—G.I. Jobs magazine rated PCC as one of the nation’s best colleges and universities in terms of offering active-duty military personnel and veterans a quality education, value and welcoming attitude.
