A brilliantly clear but windy day enabled this view from the top of Wansfell (1700') north to of the Kirkstone Pass (centre) as it passes between Red Screes (left) and Caudale Moor (right).
If you look closely, you can just see the 500 year old Kirkstone Pass Inn, the 3rd highest pub in England at 1500'.
You cannot hear the chattering of my wife's teeth nor the whining of cold and tired offspring. In fairness, there was a bitingly cold wind. We beat a hasty retreat; the kids had a whale of a time on the descent, flinging themselves wildly into snow drifts.
