Whitsett Soccer Fields Ribbon Cutting 5.3.17
Councilmember Paul Krekorian, Department of Recreation and Parks, and Bureau of Engineering attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the state-of-the-art synthetic turf soccer fields at Whitsett Fields Park.

The Department of Recreation and Parks has taken the lead role in upgrading sports fields as part of the “LA Spec” initiative to replace crumb rubber synthetic fields with non-crumb rubber fields across Los Angeles. The synthetic fields incorporate ZeoFill, an organic mineral found in water filtration systems, which reduces surface temperatures, offers a high-quality playing surface, has environmental advantages, and will help the fields last longer.
