Toffee Factory Sunset

Toffee Factory Sunset - We've had some glorious sunsets this week, and I've been stuck inside working, so tonight I decided to head out with the camera and tripod and see what I could see. I've been meaning to document the opening of the Toffee Factory for a few weeks now, as I love the coloured arches and the subtle glow on the iconic chimney, so combining the two elements of sunset and lighting was an added bonus!

The building dates from late Victorian times, and it really was Maynards toffee factory, although it was long abandoned and falling derelict after a fire in the 1980s. There's a bit more background and you can see what it looked like a couple of years ago here:

After a lengthy rebuilding and redevelopment, Toffee Factory opened for business on December 19, 2011, as Newcastle’s newest space for creative business.

They say: “The Ouseburn is THE place to be in Newcastle if you are a creative business and Toffee Factory provides the ideal office space for such businesses.”
