Isabelline Wheatear - Oenanthe isabellina - Чогчоохой - Чогчиго
Photographed at dusk in Mongolia's Gun Galuut Nature Reserve with Canon's EF 800mm f5.6 L IS lens.
My assumption was that "Isabelline" referenced some early ornithologist or their wife or perhaps a European royal. In fact, Isabelline (also known as Isabella) is a colour variously defined as pale grey-yellow, pale fawn, pale cream-brown or parchment. The word is used primarily to describe animal coat colouring, particularly plumage colour in birds and, in Europe, in horses.
