White-throated Sparrow Survivor

The usual wintering range of this bird lies to the south of Ottawa but every year a few individuals attempt to survive the cold months here. At first light on February 20th this one looked a little haggard with wings drooping slightly. But then it found a place to perch in sun and warm up and after that feed on the seeds scattered beneath the main feeder at the Fletcher Wildlife Gardens. With the worst weather now behind us and March within sight this one will probably make it.
