Broom Bloom!

Taken during a walk in the woods yesterday. The lower part of the background is actually bluebells. Wish I had took my tripod as it's not exactly as I wanted. I planned to return today, but it's blowing a hooly and dull :(

Broom is a native species in the UK. The species name scoparius comes from the Latin scopa meaning a besom or broom. Its long branches, which are both slender and tough, made it ideal in the past for the making of sweeping brushes or brooms.

I will visit you all again soon.
