This is not lens flare!
One day while laying by the pool on vacation, I noticed this very unusual rainbow. It formed a complete circle around the sun, never touching ground. I used my hand to block the sun, while using my wife's Nikon P60 to capture the event. Unfortunately the lens did not zoom wide enough to capture all the rainbow.
What do you think...anyone seen this before, or know how it is caused?
Thanks to "earthrythms" for identifying it as a 22° Circular Halo, and providing this link:
I also found this site myself:
It's all to do with ice crystals and refraction.
