Great focus! I don't know what it is, but I've been a little disappointed with the performance on my 40/1.4. Maybe I should go back to using it in low light and wide open. Inspiring! Thanks...

I'm hoping for similar conditions this year, but I know I'm in the minority with that viewpoint. Well executed, really pleasing.

      Thanks everyone!!

@ kingqueenknave - Thanks! I have loved my copy. What aspects of your 40's performance do you not like. I've heard people talk about the bokeh as being too harsh, but I have always rather liked it.

@ dans240z - Thanks! :) I feel the same way you do. There were definitely some hassles associated with the snow, but I loved all the snow we got and I definitely enjoy a few good storms in the winter. Of course we got so much ice build up on our gutters that they came crashing down, but still it was fun for the most part.

The bokeh is really nice. The lens just seems a bit flat to me. I have the single coat version, and perhaps that has something to do with it. More than anything I guess it just doesn't seem as consistent as some of my other lenses when going from film to film, developer to developer, and setting to setting. The images just seem really soft at times. I love the focal length, but of the three Voigtlander lenses I own, it's the one I use least.

Granular snow + a bit of film grain makes a great combo.

Wonderful use of selective focus! I like the way the shapes of the lights seem to mirror the shapes of the little bits of snow.
