Mom in a Convertible, May, 1953
Mom looks happy in her Summer sundress, hair windblown from just taking a ride in this convertible on her final day of High School. She's sitting in her drive at Northside Circle in May of 1953. This was Mom's "Graduation Day" dress - white eyelet cotton.
This photo reminds me of a funny story Mom tells about her Senior Year: She and a group of kids from Central High drove out to the Jackson Airfield. They parked on the runway, cranked up the radio, turned on the headlamps, and danced on the airstrip! The party ran late, and her worried mother called the police to look for Mom. Well, they found her and the rest of the gang there dancing in the moonlight! They all had some explaining to do when they got home, I'm sure.
