WW1 canteen and nursing staff and military chaplains KOSB
My great grandfather James Hinselwood, a corporal in the Kings Own Scottish Borderers (in the middle)with some female canteen and nursing staff, and two military chaplains.
My great grandfather was from Eaglesfield, Dumfriesshire, and served throughout the whole duration of the Great War. Being a member of the Territorial Army he was sent to the front in August 1914 and was demobbed in 1919. He was wounded twice, in Gallipoli and at Ypres, and fought on the Somme.
During the second workd war he was a major in the Home Guard.
He worked as a plumber on the LMS railway, British Rail after 1948.
