Hispano-Suiza H6C Xenia

This stunning one-off concept car was created by aperitif heir, WW1 flying ace and racer, André Dubonnet. Far more than just a styling exercise, the car features unique hydro-pneumatic, adjustable independent suspension on all four wheels, which was patented by Dubonnet and subsequently used by General Motors, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and others. The dramatically streamlined body by Jacques Saoutchik shares many aerodynamic cues with an aircraft fuselage, and the interior is modelled on the cockpit of a fighter plane. Named after his beloved first wife, Xenia, the Hispano was hidden in the Saint Cloud road tunnel during the second world war.
