Dawn at the Snake river Overlook
I just returned to Salt Lake yesterday from a road trip which took me from Seattle through Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, Western Montana, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton. I got this shot right before sunrise on Friday morning. I was a little disappointed when I woke up because it looked like a completely clear sky. However, when I actually got all my gear set up for the shot, it turned out there were some really thin, streaky clouds that turned a brilliant pink just as dawn approached. They only stayed lit for about 10 minutes and then disappeared again, which was kind of strange, but I'm glad I was there for it.
I came here for sunrise over Memorial Day weekend back in May, but I wasn't lucky enough to have clear skies back then ( www.flickr.com/photos/parkflavor/4661713494/in/set-721576... ).
