Hôtel du Brésil

A *mint* condition Citroën 2CV, somewhere in the 9th arrondissement on a rainy Sunday afternoon. (Number plate altered to protect he innocent.)

One of the iconic car designs of the 20th century, the 2CV was the French "every man's car" in the same vein as VW's Beetle and Fiat's Cinquecento. There is something undeniably and indelibly French about the car, from Citroën's double chevron logo to the long hood and flap-up windows. It is a car equally home on the streets of Paris, the mountains of Corsica, the deserts of Algeria or, like the one bought and imported by the professor who taught me photography at university, the mountains of Western Pennsylvania :-)
