      So colorful. This looks dangerous. Do they sting?

      hi lyh1.. yes they are very colorful indeed and not dangerous at all. they are large polyp stony corals that are filter feeders. the corals eat by opening up and extending their tentacles and retract when not feeding.

      Thanks for the explanation. Very educational. You have any photos of Jelly fish in your flickr site? I heard they are also very beautiful in the sea but very dangerous as well.

      lyh1... there are many species of jellyfish and only a few are highly toxic. i unfortunately do not have any photos yet but do agree they are very beautiful. however, if you want to see the deadliest fish in the sea, go to the previous photo in this set. thanks for visiting!
