Though we went as something of an afterthought, this was in many ways my favorite part of the whole trip. There is no way photos can capture the colors or scale, especially the scale, of this otherworldly place. It is an alien landscape of multi-hued mounds and valleys littered with thousands of pre-historic petrified logs, and petroglyphs from people who lived there back when there was still water and life. The variety of vistas here reflect the various minerals etc in the earth, and how they were absorbed by the trees. I highly recommend visiting.
