Galapagos Tortoise at Chester Zoo

    Newer Older

I think this is a Galapagos Tortoise but I am not 100% sure... it could well be some sort of turtle. I know Chester Zoo has this kinda of Tortoise and I am pretty sure turtles live primarily in water and have webbed feet. These guys were in a sandy dry enclosure and look way to old and slow to swim, they are pretty damn cool tho :)

Random fact: The longest ever recorded lifespan of a Galapagos Tortoise is 152 years !

He's a beauty!! WAs he really large....usually the galops are big!! I have a California desert turtle. They're turtles..no webbed feet and they live in the desert here. Excellent capture!! this is what wisdom must look like:)
