I was feeling rather creative this weekend… so I put together this composite image… made up from three different photos… only one of which was mine.
Yes… there really is a place called Occultdale! It’s the name of a farm quite close to where I live in Durbanville. Although there’s nothing sinister about the farm (that I’m aware of)… I’ve always wanted to do something creative and creepy with this cool-looking, rusty sign… with the white lettering peeling off!
So… the rusty sign with the road, fence and sky behind it… is my photo (taken in the rain on Saturday morning). The raven and lightning bolt photos were both “borrowed” from the web… I tried to find out who took the photos (so that I could ask permission)… but when every attempt turned into a dead-end… I decided to use them without permission. I also used two different textures from my “Summer Painterly” set of textured images… so thanks very much to Paul Grand and Jill Ferry… who created those.
Nikon D800, Nikkor 14-24mm at 19mm, aperture of f2.8, with a 1/4000th second exposure.
