Okay… here’s another Vertorama from Friday evening’s sunset photo-shoot at Kogelbaai.
Kogelbaai, also known as Koeëlbaai (cannon ball bay), is named for the large, round boulders that line its shore in places. These not only resemble cannonballs, but the sound they makes as the rocks roll over in the waves reminded early mariners of cannonballs clunking together on a ship’s deck.
Unfortunately the waves were much too small while I was here to hear any “clunking”. I wasn’t at all disappointed though… because it allowed me to get really close and low to the water… to compose and capture this image. I’m really pleased with this one… it turned out much better than I’d imagined it would! :)
Nikon D300, Sigma 10-20mm at 10mm, aperture of f13, with a 1/13th second exposure.
