Here’s a five (portrait) image panorama taken approximately half an hour before sunset on Saturday evening… at the Theewaterskloof dam near Villiersdorp.
Sometimes I can walk around and around a promising subject for many minutes… searching for the absolute best angle and composition. But sometimes I can walk right up to a subject… plonk my tripod down… and shoot for an hour without moving an inch. This was one of those times!
I suppose that I could have captured this scene in only one shot with an ultra-wide lens… but I didn’t want to push the mountains too far back here… and I also wanted to try to capture as much detail as possible (there’s over 30 megapixels in this image).
Nikon D300, Sigma 18-200mm at 36mm, aperture of f14, with a 1/320th second exposure.
