Location: A rocky beach near Paternoster.
Description: Here is another Vertorama from my archives.
Towards the end of last year I decided to visit Paternoster, a small and unspoiled fishing village approximately 145 km north of Cape Town. I left home with my kayak strapped to the roof of my car, my camera strapped into the passenger seat... and holding thumbs for some calm water and a colourful sunset.
I arrived at the beach well before sunset and since the wind was getting stronger, I decided to go for a paddle first. After an hour or so on the water, I strapped my kayak to the roof again, grabbed my camera and walked off along the beach in search of some interesting compositions.
Unfortunately the colourful sunset never materialised... the sun was blocked out by an approaching cold front about thirty minutes before sunset.
This was the best shot of the day.
