Train car under the stars
Biked outside of town to try and get some stars. This photo is made up of 71 1 minute exposures, layered together in photoshop. I was hoping for a train to come by on the other set of tracks and add some more movement to the frame, but no luck. On the plus side, you can see Polaris up in the top right, which I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to at the time. On the really plus side, with the timer-remote ticking along and letting the camera do it's thing, I got to relax and read some Vernor Vinge under the stars.
I think in the future I'll try stopping down the lens to f/4, as the edges aren't as sharp as they could be, and the noise seems under control enough to boost the ISO a stop. Still, I'm happy with what I got for a couple hours in the dark.
