Lookup the meaning of “hiraeth” and take a photo of it.
    — Bryan Schutmaat

A feeling of utter desolation and heartache which haunts a person when they know something they treasured is now out of reach.

Emotionally strong, enhanced by your framing and composition.

Excellent. Great composition, lighting and B&W processing. Strong emotional expression. Perfect for a very difficult brief. Really like the extra length of empty out of focus countryside. Adds to the meaning.

Perfect! A beautiful shot for all the reasons mentioned.

As Leripix says the gap between the figure and the stone feels charged. Somehow both melodramatic and naturalistic.
