      ditch the bricks in the front, I'll assume your on the street shooting candid and somethimes you cant move. It almost looks like the camera focused on the bricks and not your subject.

      the background is just a wall but it just stopped raining and the air was very clear so that the sun came down "unfiltered" by smog particles in the air. This created the reflective shining on the wall.
