Twenty-fifth meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD)-Health of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Key topics on the COHSOD – Health agenda include policies on HIV and progress in the fight against noncommunicable diseases (NCDs).

Participants also discussed policies on financing of health services and human resources for health, how to comply with the requirements of the International Health Regulations (IHR), and a strategic plan for the new Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA).

The meeting is took place at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) headquarters in the lead-up to the 52nd PAHO Directing Council meeting, Sept. 30 – Oct. 4, 2013.
