Kangaroo care is a technique practiced on newborn, usually preterm, infants wherein the infant is held, skin-to-skin. This provides both physical and emotional benefits to baby and family. Kangaroo care for pre-term infants may be restricted to a few hours per day, but if they are medically stable, and the family is educated in the care, that time may be extended. This care compliments neonatology. Mother and daughter take home premature twins. Programa Madre Canguro Integral - Fundacion Canguro. Universitario San Ignacio Hospital. Universidad Javeriana.
