1201_1147 Buffalo breath

"What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the winter time. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset." - last words of Crowfoot, Blackfoot chief, 1890.

John Horowitz Jan Eshenroder Oh, no; check the date at the upper right: January 23rd. I always try to keep my dates accurate. Now, they are calling for some mixed rain and snow by next weekend, but here we've all agreed that any snow henceforth shall be known as "spring snow", and it will not last.
