51223 Air pollution
I caught this scene on my first ever roll of Fujichrome Velvia, in January 1991. To test this new slide film, I got up pre-dawn and drove to the Knight Street bridge, where some industrial activity along the Fraser River routinely belched toxins into the air - a radical departure from Vancouver's squeaky clean tourist town image. When I decided to position the sun directly behind a plume of smokestack pollution, I nailed my "photo du jour"...
