I like to call it the "Star Trek" haze, because in the original Star Trek all the females had this incredible soft lens on cam. In the "old days", vaseline was applied to the lens to give it a soft look.
This is a shot of a sculpture in Tumbleweed Park, Chander, Arizona, taken with a trashcam (HC 2000) with vaseline over the lens.
For those wondering how one gets the vaseline off--who cares? The camera cost me approximately 17 cents.
