The halls have ghosts

Like a

straggled feather,

innocuous, I wander along

these endless corridors

my soliloquy

hardly slicing the dark

In the last hour,

under the fading halo

of the hurricane lantern,

I stream unveiled

carrying my soul

like a candle in the wind

Time and again

I see you come back

stretch your wings

and weave another crafty web

to exorcise my vermilion tears

out of the desolate mansion

Effaced within

your hidden treasures

and rattling skeletons

from an ancient world,

I see, my ivory dreams

adorning your mantle-piece
