    While nature might be fractal, what humans build is largely not. We build materially efficient structures with simple lines and rectangles. When these simple patterns are repeated on large scale, however, there is a certain fractal feel to the visual.

    Here are a couple of my recently-faved with a similar "repetitive rectangles" pattern:
