North Lake in Autumn, Bishop California
Yes, it's hardly an undiscovered place. But it's very hard not to just take out the camera and snap a pic each year. Perhaps in 50 years or so I'll have enough images for a single book of this exact spot.
Me and earthshaker meet an elderly man near Lundy Canyon. He could hardly walk, just small steps with the help of a cane and his older son, he mentioned that he comes back to Lundy each year to admire the foliage because it reminded him of his wife... who passed away many years ago.... He went on to talk about how special a place this was to them and their kids. You could really see the sparkle in this guys eyes when he spoke about those memories. When he looked out into the colored trees, it was like he was looking at her... his lips curled a little smile as he spoke of her. It was very touching.
This place is that special to me... and many others I'm sure.
"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."
