Lunar Eclipse 2015-Apr-04 11:54 UT
Marginally total lunar eclipse, atmosphere model dependent. Different models gave different predictions, some saying totality, others saying fully partiality. Indeed the region in the north of the apparent lunar disk never got dark enough.
Images calibrated with bias, dark, and flat field in IRIS. Registered and stacked in IRIS. Wavelet adjustment in Registax5. Colour and intensity stretched done in Photoshop CC. The registration-on-the-moon image clearly reveals trailed background stars. In order to overcome this a background of stars was generated by registration on the field stars. The moon's position with respect to the background stars is accurately the same as the first image of the sequence.
