The 47th Annual Merrie Monarch in Hilo, Hawaii: April 4th through April 10th 2010
Aloha ka kou! With the ending of Spring Break comes the busiest and most
prosperous time in Hilo, Hawaii and that is the Annual Merrie Monarch. This year
I will be dancing with my cousin's group. I will just say that we live on the same island.
I love this time of year because it perpetuates the Hawaiian culture in song and dance.
My heritage and my love for my people is evident when I dance and when I
smile. I will leave you with a song sung and performed live by one of my
cousins, the song is called, E O Mai.
