Double-barred Finches

Gotta luv 'em! They are such an attractive little bird, more so when they come in flocks.

There were abound 35 Double-barred Finches in this small flock on the edge of the Callum Brae section of Canberra Nature Park. The Nature Park is an assemblage of hilltops, old grazing farms and other bushland within and around the city of Canberra.

Here is a picture of 13 of them in a more typical situation, feeding. Not so easy to see, and not so photogenic!
