Lake Travis has been so low for so long that plants are growing on land that is usually under water, the lake is about 50 feet (15 m) below normal and is at only about 30% of full capacity because of the extended drought the last few years and heavy rains in the Austin area the last couple of months mostly missed the lake's watershed unfortunately
