WOMEN’S ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT THROUGH AGRICULTURAL VALUE CHAIN ENHANCEMENT (WEAVE)
The Women’s Economic Empowerment through Agriculture Value Chain Enhancement (WEAVE) project is being implemented by a consortium of three international non-governmental organisations — SNV, Oxfam and CARE International — in partnership with the Australian Government, through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Together, SNV, Oxfam and CARE International are using a gender-transformative approach by promoting gender equality at the household level, effective producer groups at the community level, and an improved enabling policy environment to help pig, cinnamon and banana farmers strengthen their respective value chains and support farmers to invigorate their livelihoods and advocate for their interests.

WEAVE draws on the strengths of these three NGOs, each with extensive experience in Vietnam, with the aim of helping women in the north-western region, one of the poorest parts of the country, achieve greater social and economic empowerment.
