Jamam refugee camp

People are living in various different conditions. Some of the refugees who arrived in late 2011 have built small shelters from straw and wood. People who have arrived in recent days are sheltering in the open under trees. Most of the refugees who arrived in January are living in tents under the trees – some distributed by UNHCR, others thrown together from plastic sheets and any material they can find. Most of this area is on a flood plain and will be under water from July.
