We Won't Tolerate Rhetoric Instead of Recovery
What is the most important priority of our elected officials: to serve the people or to get re-elected? Last week The Huffington Post reported that "Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) revealed that some members of his party opposed expanding background checks for gun sales recently because they didn't want to 'be seen helping the president.'" Well, I'm glad to see a politician tell the truth for once (even though he later revised his statement). But it does make transparent what many have suspected for some time: party politics are taking precedence over the governance of this country.
House Majority Leader, Eric Cantor, is trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act in the House of Representatives once again. How many times does this make, now, Mr. Cantor? And how much do each of these votes cost the taxpayer in tax dollars and in time wasted?
Citizens from all parts of the spectrum are getting tired of this morass. In fact, people are starting to get angry.
