GMRC 405 at MP 34, Norwich, VT - Loveland Curve

A PERFECT 10: Evoking images of Rutland limiteds speeding along Lake Champlain, Green Mountain Railroad 405 leads the White River Flyer north along the Connecticut River at Loveland Curve amidst trademark New England fall foliage on October 10, 2010. The venerable Alco RS-1 is the sole remaining example of former Rutland Railway motive power left on the roster, and pulls this classic excursion train along rails operated by Vermont Rail System subsidiary Washington County Railroad. Suffering from the effects of Hurricane Irene, VRS is working hard to reopen this route to full operation.
