Lightning at the Interlocker (2 of 3); Albert Lea, MN

    Newer Older

After a quick storm chasing expedition with Emily, we found ourselves in Albert Lea on our way back home. After remembering that there's an old interlocking tower in town, I figured it would make for some interesting foreground clutter for some lightning shots.

The camera is setup on a tripod on a grade crossing in the middle of the ICE/CP Jackson Sub. The UP Spine Line can be seen going across the image. This is a 15 second exposure, no Photoshop trickery required.

How many interlocking towers remain in MN?

Fantastic Work! Although mainly its used for storage, Some crews on the Jackson sub and the Crew of the UP Albert Lea Job do use the Interlocking tower for manual overides.
